Fred Brown - Current Chairman

Fred was born in Texas in 1965, and has lived in Austin since leaving active duty from the Navy in 1991. He retired from the Navy Reserve in 2007.

Fred is currently employed as a Security/Financial Analyst for Apple Inc. Fred married his wife Wendy in 1998, they have three children and three grandchildren. Fred has been a member of Southwest Christian Church since 1997 and is currently serving as the Chairman of our Elders.  You may Contact Fred Directly

Paul Carnes

Born and raised in Michigan, Paul has lived in California, New York and Texas. He and his family have lived in Buda since 1984. Paul has served several terms as Chairman of the Elders.

Professionally, Paul is a Certified Technical Trainer.  Paul and his wife Betty have been married since 1971, and have one grown son and three grandchildren. They have been members of Southwest Christian Church since 1998.

Paul Diaz, Sr.

Born in Austin, Paul has lived here all his life. He married his childhood sweetheart, Sarah in 1970. Paul and Sarah have three grown children and five grandchildren. They have been members of Southwest Christian since 1978, and were instrumental in establishing Southwest as a bilingual congregation.  Paul has served as Chairman of the Elders for several terms and has been a member of our Praise Band from its inception.

Paul's profession is in Technology and Management as an AVP of Technology Services in Austin. He also serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Dallas Christian College, is a Trustee with Mexican Border Christian Ministries, and as an Advisory Board member of the Government Technology Conference.

Phil Landrum

Phil was born and raised in/around Madisonville, KY.
Phil and his wife June were childhood sweethearts. He joined the military (US Army) on graduating H.S, in 1958. That same year he and June were married.
     They left the U.S. for Phil's primary duty station.in the Panama Canal Zone, where both of their children were born,  They have also lived in the Florida Keys and Tampa. Following work, they moved to Houston in 1968, then to Austin in 1970 where Phll co-owned and was CEO of a large successful Specialty Camera store.
      Phil was ordained into the Ministry of Christ in 1978 and served for 28 years on our staff as Outreach Minister, retiring in 2006.  He currently leads  Bible Study Fellowship Group on Wednesday's at 6:30 and a Men's Bible Fellowship Group currently meeting at 8:00 AM on the first and third Saturday's of each month.  .    Phil and June, celebrated 50 years of marriage in 2008. They have an adult son and daughter, and now 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Ron Leigh

​Born in California, Ron was raised in Michigan and Texas. His home has been in Austin since 1972.  Ron married his high school sweetheart, Lisa, and they have been married for over 30 years (1977). They have three adult children and two granddaughters.  

Professionally Ron is a Certified Project Manager for HP in Austin. He has been a member of Southwest Christian Church since 1972. Ron previously served several years as a Deacon.

Eliud Rivera

Born in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, Eliud's family moved  to Chicago, Ill. while he was still a child. His father, Juan, was a founding member and served as an Elder of Community Christian Church in Chicago for over 50 years.  Eliud and his wife Teresa have been married for more than 20 years and have a lovingly blended family including one daughter, two sons and three grandchildren.
Eliud and Teresa have been members of Southwest Christian since May of 2011.  He is a retired steelworker following more than 35 years of service to that industry. Eliud previously served as a Deacon, then as an Elder, at Town & Country Christian Church in Indiana.  Teresa has actively served with the Music and Drama Ministry,  Hospitality Committee and they have hosted Bible studies in their home.

John Curcuruto

John was born in 1951 and has been married to his wife Carol since 1978. The Curcurutos have three grown children, two sons, Clint and Vince, and a daughter, Heather. They have six grandchildren. John has been a Christian for 48 years and a member of SWCC since 1985. He retired as a Metrology Lab Calibration Technician for the 3M Company in 2016.  John is currently serving as the Ministry Leader for the Building Maintenance Ministry.  John enjoys traveling and outdoor activities, such as hiking, camping and golfing.

Chris Dobbs

Chris was raised in East Texas where he and his family lived until relocating to Buda in 2014. Chris grew up in both the non-instrumental and instrumental Church where he began a relationship with Christ as Lord and Savior through confession and baptism at age 12. Chris has previously served in churches as Youth Director, Worship Leader, and Deacon before coming to SWCC where he now serves as a member of the Worship Ministry team. Chris and Allison have been married for over 20 years and have three children.
Chris has worked in various areas of the music and media industry as well as law enforcement and security and currently works in the financial sector full time and serves as SWCC's  part time Worship Director.

 Chris and his wife, Alison, have been married for 20 years and have 3 children.  In his free time you'll find either enjoying a great band around Austin or hiking on the Greenbelt.

Gabe Ginorio

Gabe was born on June, 28, 1973. He received his bachelors in Media Arts from CSU, Chico in 2007. Gabe and his wife Katie were married on April 25, 2009. After relocating from Seattle, Gabe and his family began attending Southwest in the Summer of 2011. Over the years, he has been a part of several new church plants in several cities. As part of the Southwest family, he has served regularly  during communion, photographed for holidays and baptisms, and has been involved in most church events. Katie serves with the youth at the church. They have three daughters, Serafina, who is 6 years old, Lily, who is 4 years old, and newborn Lucia.

Matthew Holliman

Matthew was born in Fort Worth, Texas in 1989. He has been married for two years to Courtney and has recently become a dad a beautiful girl.  He has been a member at Southwest Christian Church for a year and serves as a teacher in the children's ministry. Matthew owns a growing landscaping company that services the Kyle and Buda area.

Greg Jenkins

Greg has been married to his wife Stacy (Diaz) for 16 years. The  Jenkins have four children, three of which are from Greg's previous marriage; two grown boys, Justin and Kyle, and two daughters, Reagan who is 23 and Isabella who is 8 years old. Greg has been a Christian for 29 years and  a member of SWCC for 20 years. Greg has served Southwest as a Youth Sponsor, in the Maintenance Ministry, Worship Support Ministry, as a Bible School Teacher and is currently serving as a Deacon. Greg is employed as a  Commercial Construction Superintendent for a construction company in Austin.  Stacy serves on the worship team playing piano for both worship services. 

Ruben Villegas

Ruben is a long time member of Southwest CC, placing membership in 1985.  He and his wife, Mary Ruth, have been married for 28 years.  They have one adult daughter, Rebecca, who lives in Austin.  Ruben has been employed by the United States Postal Service for 37 years and has his eyes on retiring in the next few years!   He has served as a Deacon at Southwest in the past and you will see him and Mary Ruth greeting you at the front door each Sunday.  Ruben has also served in the areas of Worship Support and AV Ministry in the past.
